Mississippi State Traditions |
The Bulldog
Mississippi State University athletic teams are called
Bulldogs, a name earned and maintained over the decades by the tough, tenacious play of student-athletes
wearing the Maroon and White. The official school mascot is an American Kennel Club registered English Bulldog,
given the inherited title of 'Bully'. |

""Bully"" The Mascot |
Our Bully's are extremely involved within the community with alumni appearances, university functions,
and even outside events such as birthday parties. Bully mascots are also involved in Fan Fare during
football season; taking pictures and visiting with the kids. Our mascots are at all football games
and all home basketball games.
Bully mascots are also involved with the Nationals mascot competition. In 2002, our Bully's took home
the gold with the NCA National Champions title! In 2003, they placed again, this time with the silver.
Our mascots are looking forward to competing once again, this winter. |
